    Welcome!

This is an on-going forum for any issues having to do with the Quaker in Europe on-line project. The project has been running since 2007. At first there were only about 12 Friends involved. Now the number has expanded to include all of those Friends registered here--you can see the list if you click on "Participants" at the top lefthand corner of the page. Together, we have explored Quakerism in our various contexts and created an introductory course that can be taken by groups of Friends and enquirers. Translations are gradually being completed and the course is being run in various languages--so far 17 languages are included in the project.

This forum is loosely facilitated by Julia Ryberg. There are no expectations about how much you contribute. We hope to continue cultivating Quaker community on-line. Open, respectful sharing and good on-line listening skills are central to our work!

    Introductions

Many of the participants in this forum know each other already, having met in person and/or on-line. Please introduce yourself briefly the first time you contribute to this forum, telling us a little bit about yourself, your Quaker context and your involvement in the on-line project.

    Joys and Concerns

One of the purposes of the on-line project is to build Quaker community. The project has gone through various phases and levels of intensity of communication. Sometimes the Joys and Concerns forum has been a lifeline for Friends in the project. This forum makes it possible for you reach all of the participants in the project to share anything that is happening in your life, to ask for upholding or simply to send a Friendly greeting.

    Translations

In this area you can find the forms for inserting your translated text into the corresponding English section. This is necessary because administrators who create the courses in various languages cannot read all of them. Open the documents and save them, using the name of the language in the title. Send them to Julia at julia.ryberg@woodbrooke.org.uk . She will be in contact with you as the course is being created in your language.

    Facilitation

Being an on-line facilitator is a new kind of Quaker ministry! Each Quaker in Europe course is facilitated by one or two Friends who have taken part in a 2-week facilitation training course, which is run as soon as there is a group large enough. There is a separate Moodle forum for those Friends who are facilitating courses at present. It includes a section on evaluation.

Here below is where you can ask any questions about facilitation in general. You can also express your interest in (or concerns about!) becoming a facilitator.

    Recruitment of participants

This is a space to share ideas and experiences about recruiting particpants for the courses. Each Quaker context is unique, and each course is unique, but we can certainly learn from each others' experiences.
